Affordable and accessible healthcare
for all members of our community

At Nala Community Hospital, we are committed to ensuring that all our fellow community members have access to affordable and appropriate healthcare geared specifically to their needs.  Nala Community Hospital was founded and is run by local community members and has its roots deep in the local culture of Western Kenya.  Founded by Dr. Abraham Espira in 1979, Nala has been providing healthcare and support to our community for over 45 years.  In fact, the name Nala is derived from the Luhya word for “Our” meaning ”The People’s” Hospital.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make sure no child goes untreated because of lack of resources, financial or medical, and no person in our community has to struggle to access the healthcare they deserve.  Our priority is the well-being of our community members, and we will strive to do what we can within our area of expertise to do just that.

Get Involved

Get directly involved in our work through a variety of options, including our residency, internship, volunteer positions and collaborative programmes.  These opportunities allow you to make a positive contribution to our work and the communities we work with while also gaining hands-on experience at the real frontline of healthcare.

Donate

Your generosity and contribution will allow us to expand hospital facilities, save lives, and continue to offer at-cost healthcare to all our community members, especially the underserved who are the cornerstone of our hospital.
